La provincia de Jaén no suele ser la primera parada de los viajeros internacionales que visitan Andalucía. Sin embargo, la escena gastronómica de este rincón del sur de España no debería pasarse por alto. No sólo es la capital mundial de la producción de aceite de oliva. También tiene muchos más productos locales que se disfrutan en la zona y que también se exportan a otros países.
Antes de empezar, ¿sabías que la ciudad de Jaén tiene dos restaurantes con estrella Michelin (mientras escribo en 2021)? Bagá dirigido por el Chef Pedro Sánchez y Dama Juana por Juan Aceituno. Cada restaurante tiene una estrella Michelin y ambos tienen largas listas de espera para conseguir una mesa. Si quiere comer allí, reserve con mucha antelación, ya que son restaurantes muy populares.
Jaén es también una región con una buena selección de vinos locales. Aunque es posible que no esté familiarizado con el vino de Jaén. Ya en 1526 era una de las principales industrias de la zona. En los años 1800 la región tenía plantaciones de cereales, vino y olivos, con extensiones de tierra similares, los tres cultivos eran prácticamente iguales. Sin embargo, entre 1800 y 1880 la producción de vino de la región disminuyó.

It is one of the values of our Gastronomy of Jaén, and in this occasion we want to give the recognition that the kitchens of each one of the corners of our land deserve, in which every day we taste their work in the form of Tapa.
8 .- The call is open from July 15, 2021, closing at 24 h. on September 3, 2021. Participation in the contest does not generate any registration fee for the contestant.
12 .- During the competition all candidates must wear the appropriate clothing that the Organization designates, being strictly mandatory the use of professional jacket, MASK and gloves.
The Champion of The Best Tapa of Jaen is committed to attend all the media, as well as the next day if necessary; for this purpose the Organization will provide a hotel room for two people.
