Although cod predominates in the cuisine of our neighboring country, one of the most representative dishes of the Portuguese national cuisine is the green broth, a hearty creamy soup based on potatoes and cabbage, which we are going to prepare with our Thermomix® effortlessly.
It is surprising the love for soups of the Portuguese, who even eat them for breakfast, or served in bars between meals, a custom that also exists in many Eastern countries, especially in China, where soup is a must at breakfast.
400 gr. Galician cabbage or, failing that, green kale, 100 gr. peeled onion, 2 cloves of garlic, 50 gr. extra virgin olive oil, 400 gr. peeled floury potatoes, 1 liter of water, 50 gr. smoked chorizo (optional), 2 level teaspoons of salt, freshly ground black pepper.

I can’t write any more… my little 4-legged one is hanging around me with the ball in his mouth -I just arrived after a long weekend of work- so I think I’ll leave you for today, he deserves it.
