The main plot of the series is the adventures of the group of 6 friends. The action takes place mainly at Bayside High School (classrooms, hallways, principal’s office) and at the Max, the hamburger joint where the boys usually eat and where all events other than the high school dance take place.
In the first chapters, the plots had hardly any background: Zack Morris’ antics, problems caused by him and resolution with a lesson learned, although he never really learned it. In these episodes each character had a role that was always identical to Zack: Screech took the blame and did the dirty work, Slater was the friend/enemy who messed up his plans, Kelly was the target he was trying to achieve, Lisa came by and gave him the «information» or gossip she had learned, and Jessie tried to be the voice of experience.
